Press release from the City of St. Charles: The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement over the course of the weekend preceding up to St. Patrick's Day and had additional officers working on St. Patrick's Day itself. Members of the Kane County States Attorney's Office also were present at the St. Charles Police department on the night of Saturday, March 13 to take part in a county-wide No Refusal Weekend. These extra patrols were held in conjunction with the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort. The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois with their effort. During the mobilization, St. Charles Police: Arrested 2 drivers for DUI. Issued 3 citations for speeding and 16 others for a variety of other violations. The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
