The workshop is offered four times. Attend only once. Participants are welcome to come early for lunch, noon-1:00. This three-hour workshop for 8th – 12th grade math teachers focuses on the February 2021 changes to the Tennessee mathematics standards, particularly the statistics and probability domain. The goal is to equip teachers to make informed textbook selections in the coming year. Participants will receive a calculator and a copy of The Lady Tasting Tea. Dr. Brian Wagner guides participants through discussions of the standards and hands-on activities addressing Tennessee mathematics clusters 8.SP.A, 8.SP.B, A1.S.ID.A, A1.S.ID.B, A1.S.ID.C, G.S.CP.A, G.S.CP.B, A2.S.ID.A, A2.S.ID.B, and A2.S.IC.A (reference is to the new standards approved February 2021).
