Press release from the Newark Unified School District: March 27, 2021 Dear Families of Newark Unified School District, "In partnership, the bargaining teams for the Newark Unified School District and the Newark Teachers Association would like to announce that a Tentative Agreement has been reached on a comprehensive memorandum of understanding for the reopening of our District's schools to in-person instruction beginning April 14, 2021. This Agreement will become final subject to ratification by the Newark Teachers Association membership on March 31. This Agreement is the product of great dedication and hard work by respective members of each bargaining team. We look forward to continued cooperation on behalf of the students and community of Newark Unified as we reopen schools to in-person instruction after returning from spring break."
