Cat Found In Texas, Reunited With Owner In Ohio After 5 Years

DAYTON, OH — Margaret Burcham figured she would never see Bernie, her tabby cat, ever again after he ran away from their Florence, Kentucky home more than five years ago. Since then, Burcham has moved to Dayton. And somehow, Bernie wound up in Texas. Bernie was picked up by a shelter in Waco, Texas a week ago, WCPO Cincinnati reported. Volunteers at the Heart of Texas Lost and Found Pets checked his microchip, connected him to Burcham, and one of them made the 1,100-mile trek to reunite the pair in Dayton. "Just amazing," Burcham told the news station. "And all the way in Texas." Read more from WCPO
