Description
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — With the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center closed for the foreseeable future, Agourans now have some more options for indoor workouts.
For the first time since last summer, the YMCAs in Simi Valley and Westlake Village are reopening their fitness centers Monday. Fitness facilities at the Conejo Valley YMCA in Thousand Oaks remain closed "based on limited space and capacity issues," according to Southeast Ventura County YMCA, which operates all three facilities. Members of the Conejo Valley Y will still be able to work out in Simi Valley and Westlake Village for the same rates.
Facilities are open in accordance with Ventura County and state guidelines. Masks are required both inside and outside, equipment is spaced six feet apart, and the gym will operate at 10% capacity. Members must reactive their membership here, and make workout reservations on the YMCA app.
The facilities' indoor pools will not open until the county reaches the orange tier - or a weekly average adjusted case rate of 1 to 3.9 per 100,000, and a 2-4.9% average positivity rate. As of Friday, Ventura County's adjusted case rate is 5, and its test positivity rate is 2.2 percent. Since its case rate does not currently meet the orange tier threshold, it will remain in the red tier.
The Yarrow Family YMCA is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday. The Simi Valley YMCA is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed Saturday and Sunday.
