Teenager Killed In Crash Near Paradise Valley

PHOENIX, AZ — A 17-year-old was killed on Sunday night when the SUV she was driving struck a raised median and flipped over, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Police said the driver failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of 24th Street and Cactus Road near Paradise Valley while turning eastbound just after 11 p.m. on Sunday. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She died from her injuries at the scene. Police said they will determine whether the driver was impaired once toxicology results are completed.
