Job Description Remodeler and custom home builder with a 95 year history in the DC area is seeking qualified applicants for two positions: * Please only respond to this posting if you have a resume or if you give us a detailed description of your work experience and interests. And please specify us if you are seeking employment as Laborer or Carpenter. ***We will discard candidates that do not have enough information about their background experience and interests*** *** Bi-lingual employees who are conversant in both English and Spanish are highly valued and could receive higher pay *** SKILLED LABORER - Possesses transportation, valid driver’s license, and basic tools. - Must show up on time, be motivated to work hard, and show up with a consistently enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn. - Ability to physically lift at least 50 pounds and up to 80 pounds when needed. - Responsibilities include driving small trucks & dump truck, demolition, cleanup, minor paint jobs, drywall patching, trench digging / excavation, concrete work, and helping carpenters. - Works efficiently with other employees or independently. Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour (competitive rates commensurate with experience) SKILLED CARPENTER - Skilled all-around carpenter with at least 2 + years rough framing and finish carpentry of experience and extensive knowledge of power tools like jigsaw, circular saw, miter saw, table saw, etc. - Possesses transportation, valid driver’s license, and basic + power tools. - Performs full range of carpentry tasks including layout, framing complex structures, hanging doors, installing windows, building cabinetry on site, and installing trim. - Works efficiently independently, with a helper, or as an active member of a team. - Performs demolition, cleanup, and other general labor tasks as needed. - Ability to physically lift at least 50 pounds and up to 80 pounds when needed. - Reads plans, anticipates schedules for sub contractors and supervises their work as required. - Manages job site paperwork including calculating material needs for maintaining work schedules. Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 per hour (competitive rates commensurate with experience) We are looking for a permanent person that can work with us to advance all of our projects. We will pay well for the right person. Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time.
