Metal Guitarist Looking for Songwriting Partner

Description

Are you looking to get a new metal project off the ground? I am. Me: Early 30's intermediate level guitarist (actively taking lessons) with a love of metal and a basic knowledge of theory. I started playing obsessively at the beginning of quarantine and I'm ready to put myself out there. My short term goal here is to find someone with musically compatible interests to develop a partnership with, and when we have a tone we like we'll start a band and hopefully gig locally. I have no aspirations to do this professionally-- the emphasis is songwriting and improving as musicians, not to make money. Also, I'm a working professional so this is a weekend thing and a sober thing. What I bring to the table: I record on Logic Pro with my own DI. Mainly recording with Neural DSP plugins/Guitar Rig 5 but can also mic my amp. I use Superior Drummer 3 to arrange drum parts and used to play drums myself. I also can play super mediocre bass guitar. My home is fine for practicing but will not fit an acoustic drum kit. You: intermediate+ musician with a fun attitude and love for a diverse range of music looking to make something cool and lay it down on a track. You could be a guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist, or a mix. You have your own quality equipment to play and ideally a way to record it. And very importantly, you are willing to work at this and take it somewhat seriously. The point is for it to be an important hobby. My influences: Opeth, Mastodon, Gojira, August Burns Red, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, etc. I don't just listen to metal, but this is the ballpark of what I am looking to write. Project goals: Somewhat progressive, with melodic and rhythmic elements (harmonized guitars, breakdowns are cool, etc.). Ideally clean vocals, but at least mainly clean if growls just work. Interested? Let me know.
