Denmark Dairy, LLC is a family owned, large dairy farm in Colfax, Wisconsin. Our business is currently searching for a new team member that will specifically be working with our newborn calves and young livestock. Our number one priority is providing excellent quality care to our calves and cows. In order to keep our calves healthy and happy, it is critical that you possess a few important skills. You must be an individual that is organized, independent, motivated, hardworking, reliable, patient, respectful and a team player.
Your main responsibilities at the farm would be feeding calves, cleaning pails and hutches, working with a pasteurizer, bedding stalls and moving calves between our calf facilities. Another important role our staff must possess is the ability to recognize sick calves. You would be required to follow specific protocols for vaccinations and treating sick calves based off our veterinarian’s recommendations. It is also critical that you can keep detailed records of any treatments given to a calf. Additionally, you would be expected to communicate if any medications, vaccinations, feed or supplies were running low with management. Our other requirements would be that you could lift at least 50 lbs. You would also need to be able to safely drive an ATV and skidsteer for the job (training would be offered).
The shifts are usually between 8-12 hrs, which would include some weekends and holidays. Education and experience would be ideal, but not necessary. Pay will vary based on experience. If interested, please contact us and send us your resume.
