Farm Worker and Animal Care Specialist Needed

We are a private ranch/farm looking to hire someone as an assistant manager. They will work mainly independently and be in frequent communication with the maintenance manager and ranch owners. The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications and attributes: • A strong passion for animals • An extensive knowledge of animal care and husbandry • Experience working with or owning farm animals (2+ years) • Experience working with or owning reptiles and/or exotic animals • A willingness to learn how to care for various species of animals • A general knowledge of animal first aid and the ability to administer medications and treatments in accordance with veterinarian instruction • Trustworthy, independent, and highly observant • Able to lift 50lbs. and stay on feet for extended periods • Able to work consistent hours including in poor weather and on holidays • Has a valid driver's license The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: • Daily feeding and watering of animals • Daily enclosure maintenance and cleaning • Administering of medications, special feedings, and treatments as prescribed by vet • Assisting in handling animals during vet visits and transporting animals to and from vet. • Monitoring animals closely for changes in diet, physical condition, or behavior that could point to illness or injury • Bathing and grooming animals as needed • Ordering feed and necessary supplies for animals as needed • Communicating frequently and effectively to all staff any changes in routine or medical needs of animals Please reply with a resume and cover letter detailing your experience that qualifies you for this position.
