Description
Trainee(s) with strong desire to learn the arboriculture trade wanted to assist independent arborist with small business. Long-term commitment and desire to grow and master the profession is essential. Room for 1 person specializing as landscape/tree crew foreman (climber trainee preferred) and 1 person specializing as plant health care technician. All training and equipment provided to the right individual.
Work season is currently late February--December, 30-40 hours per week. Work day begins at 9 and ends between 3 and 6 pm. Pay is 15+/hour depending on experience and ability.
Requirements:
-driver license and car to get to work sites on time, reliably. Work is primarily in DelCo, Montgomery, and Chester Counties (western suburbs/main line). Meet at expected location at 9 am 4-5 days per week, some Saturdays required.
-Must like working outside 6-8 hours per workday doing moderately difficult physical labor (landscape pruning, brush hauling to trailer, assisting with pesticide applications, tree and shrub planting, mulching). Must maintain a level of physical and mental health that enables success in daily outdoor work.
-As mentioned, must have a genuine interest in learning all aspects of arboriculture so that you can succeed in the trade and provide high-end service to residential and commercial clients.
Desired:
-ability to drive stick shift and back a trailer a plus
-interest in professional tree climbing and a desire to become a proficient tree climber and trimmer is a big plus.
-experience in landscaping/tree work a plus
-knowledge of tree and shrub biology and identification is a plus
