One of the Cape’s fastest growing lawn care companies is looking for a motivated, quality-oriented, hard working individual with a positive attitude to fill a Lawn Care Manager in Training position. As a Manager in Training (MIT), you will be responsible for servicing your customers, maintaining current relationships, and developing new business while you build the skills and demonstrate the ability to be an effective leader/manager in our organization. You will also progressively gain responsibility to make decisions that will greatly affect your career as well as the growth and future of the company. The ideal candidate will: • Have a positive mental attitude • Have a proven track record of success in current and past roles • Be a dedicated, hard worker • Have a preference to be a leader • Like to set, hit and exceed goals • Be customer service driven • Be self-motivated • Be open-minded to coaching and development • Have a passion and willingness to learn and excel • 2-3 years’ experience as a lawn care technician, preferably in some type of supervisory capacity Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Maintaining customer relations by servicing and educating the client • Diagnosing and addressing lawn diseases, insect damage and any other abnormalities with a lawn and teaching technicians how to do the same • Maintaining an organized and clean truck and any other equipment you are issued • Driving some day in excess of 100 miles • Logging production and diagnosis into a mobile device • All aspects of daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, procedural tasks and paperwork • Calling clients in the evening to ensure excellent customer service and client retention • Reviewing service reports and addressing key service issues on a daily basis • Potentially working up to 12 hours a day Requirements • Valid MA drivers license with clean driving record • MA Pesticide license • GREAT ATTITUDE • High School Diploma (or equivalent) • Some mechanical aptitude • PC skills a must • Problem Solving and Time Management Skills a MUST • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure • Must be able to navigate in unfamiliar areas of the state • Ability to speak with customers professionally in person/on the phone • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization • Ability to project a clean, professional image • Ability to work as a team player and independently Physical Demands • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat and rain (8+ hours per day) • Ability to work Saturdays as necessary throughout the year
