Seeking a team-player with a flexible work schedule (available days, nights, weekends and holidays). All applicants must be able to pass a drug test and have a clean criminal background. Misdemeanor theft convictions (petty theft, larceny, etc.) and felony violations will prevent the state from issuing pari-mutuel license) Reliable transportation a must due to public transit may not be running for the late shift. CLUBHOUSE SUPERVISOR OVERVIEW ($29.20 per hour): Oversees the daily operation of the Gaming and Wagering Department and Employees. This includes, but is not limited to, excellent customer service and developing and maintaining good customer relations. Provide information and protects the integrity of the poker games, mutuel wagers and dining relations. Overall responsible for the poker, wagering and dining experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Ensure that all poker games, wagers and food sales are conducted within the strict standards set by the company and the State of Florida - Must adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program and its regulations - Supervise, train, schedule, counsel, discipline and evaluate department employees - Monitor gaming, wagering and food sales activity quickly and accurately while maintaining productivity and make adjustments when needed - Monitor seating lists determining which games to spread in regards to the best interest of the poker room - Acts as a intermediary between employee and patron on policy and procedure questions as well as serving as concierge to patrons needs and questions - Conducts settlements payouts with players of tournaments - Opens and conducts clubhouse duties in the absence of qualified personnel - Organize and conducts daily poker tournaments guaranteeing play is conducted within the rules of the game - Conducts and understands Mutuel operational tasks including delivery of racing terminology, how to wager, programs, initiatives, promotions and prizing - Oversees the day to day wagering ensuring the sale and redeeming of wagering tickets meets state regulations. - Delegates and performs duties as necessary to maintain ambiance, integrity and productivity of the clubhouse - Communicate well with guests, employees and colleagues - Handle multiple tasks in high pressure situations - Enforce the rules of the games and wagers - Change out kegs and deliver liquor throughout the track - Close food stands at the end of the night - Perform comps and voids for all food and beverage points of sale SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: - Work as a team with other Clubhouse Supervisors to constructively and constantly improve the clubhouse, ultimately receiving directions, duties and schedules from the Gaming and Wagering Director - Administer and evaluate department policies and objectives, including standards of performance - Aid in or fulfill job functions of subordinates when necessary - Flexible to work within any area of Gaming and Wagering department - Perform other duties as assigned by Management QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: - 3+ years Supervisory experience - TDA Certified - Food Safe Certified - Knowledge of mutuel regulations - Knowledge of the Health Code - Knowledge of gaming regulations - Understanding of poker/gaming rooms, mutuel and food sales operations - In lieu of gaming knowledge, a degree in business, economics or the like and/or previous work place experience in same will also be considered. - Ability to handle large cash and chip transactions accurately - Knowledge of IRS requirements - Dependability and integrity required - Exceptional customer service practices - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - Excellent multi-task and organization abilities PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: - Meet all regulations pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene in accordance with City, State, and Federal laws - Comply with Company / Department policies, including attendance - Must not present a direct threat to health, safety or the welfare of fellow employees or others - Treat all guests, vendors and employees with courtesy, respect, fairness and consistency - Professional in appearance, grooming and behavior - Ability to interpret and complete all communications received and submitted - Perform all standard card games identified by Derby Lane policy - Respond in a timely manner to all guests and employees - Mandatory Pari-Mutuel license to comply with the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulations MACHINE / EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED: Computer, Tote computer, Tote machine, Aloha system, announcing system, chips, cards and money, copy machine WORKING CONDITIONS: - Potential exposure to outdoor / indoor elements and air conditioning / heat - Walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching - Continuous walking / moving - Dealing with intoxicated guests - Occasional lifting (minimum of 25lbs.) - Flexible work schedule - Overtime work on “as needed” basis WE OFFER: - Competitive Salary - 401k - Great opportunity for growth and advancement - Fun and challenging work environment - TicketsatWork * * Hours vary ** For immediate consideration apply in person between 8:00AM and 2:30 PM, Monday thru Friday in the Human Resources Dept. located at the main entrance, first door on the right.
