Celebrate Earth Day with a guided walk around the property and old buildings to learn about our unique history. Led by Karin Ahmed, VP and Trustee of The Highlands Nature Friends, the 501(c)3 nonprofit that owns and operates The New Weis Center . Join us for an easy walk and talk around the grounds of The New Weis Center. Our guide Karin grew up next door to the Center, and has researched the history of the Center over the last century. We’ll talk about how the original Nature Friends group developed it as a place for recreation and education, their philosophy and connection to early ecology movements, and our efforts to preserve the historic buildings and other features of the property.
