Michael conducted anti-terrorism operations in the United States and Central America while serving as a member of the United States Marine Corps Fleet-Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST); he successfully completed assignments in uniformed services, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and criminal intelligence for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD); he served as a Special Response Team (SRT) Area Commander and Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) member for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Federal Protective Forces (FPF); managed and developed physical protection programs for commercial nuclear fuel fabrication facilities; and Michael has managed protection details for at-risk persons and their families. Michael also has extensive experience in designing and managing physical protection programs for private Christian schools, churches, manufacturing facilities, corporate centers and mission critical facilities. Michael has Master of Science (MS) in Security and Risk Management; a Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence, University of St. Andrews, and he studied terrorism and behavior-based threat detection techniques at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Michael is also a 32- year student, practitioner and teacher of modern pistolcraft and self- defense, and a law enforcement certified police response to active shooter and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) instructor. Michael is the owner and lead consultant for Michael Mann Security Services, an independent security management firm that specializes in providing churches, private schools and ministries with comprehensive protection strategies.
