From the City of Miami: March 26, 2021 The new City of Miami Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA), approved by the Miami City Commission, will start accepting applications on Monday, March 29, 9 am. The $14.1 million program is funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and will provide financial relief to income-eligible renters within City of Miami limits (property folio must start with 01) who experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 and meet all other program requirements. The City's ERA program can provide qualifying applicants with up to twelve months of assistance to include rental arrears, utility assistance (power, water and sewer, gas, Internet), and/or three months of prospective rent, capped at a maximum of $2,000 a month per household and not to exceed $24,000 total. Eligible applicants may also qualify for other expenses related to housing, on a case by case basis, to include relocation expenses and rental fees of temporarily/permanently displaced households, reasonable accrued late fees, and any other housing related expense deemed eligible by the U.S. Treasury.
