The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra plans to present its annual Family Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 28, via this link >>
After Music Director Orlando Cela presents "The Instruments of the Orchestra," the concert will feature Pasquale Tassone's "How Bear Lost His Tail," musical storybook based on a Native American folktale with illustrations by Arlington artist Abby Cali and narration by Jeff O'Neil.
Be sure to check out the student gallery, with artwork submitted from Arlington Public School students in anticipation of this concert.
Other recorded works will feature cello soloist and Young Artist Competition winner Haley Kwoun playing Saint-Saens' "Allegro Appassionato" Op. 43, and "Estampas Mexicanas" by José Elizondo, with an explanation from the composer himself on how he writes his music. After March 28, the concert will continue to be available via the website, Facebook page and on ACMi cable TV.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the ACAC Grants Committee (formerly Arlington Cultural Council), which is supported by the Mass. Cultural Council, a state agency.
