Have you ever marveled at an old painting? The Mona Lisa, American Gothic, Starry Night. So many beautiful colors!
The bluest blue, the golden yellow, the crushed beetle red. Let’s learn more about how and where these colors come from!
Over the course of this class, we will explore the history of paint, the origins of certain colors—you know, like crushing beetles—and even learn to mix our own paints from scratch. Not from the beetles, though.
This is the second part of our ongoing Book Series, though it is not required to take the other classes to take this one. Previously, we learned how to make our own recycled paper; now we will have homemade ink to use on it.
Minors are welcome to attend, though they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Not recommended for children under 10 years of age.
Guests are asked to be on time for events.
MakerSpace Charlotte dues-paying members can check their email for a monthly Access Code to unlock member discounts on Eventbrite during checkout.
Face coverings are required. Masks must cover nose and mouth, as mandated in NC. Hand sanitizer and bathrooms are available for hand washing during the event. Guests will be asked to maintain social distance during the class.
MakerSpace Charlotte is located in the brick side door, up the ramp. Ring bell for entry.
