Volunteer Basketball Coach Needed - Rahway, NJ

A committed coach is needed to help us develop the SoulGentz' Basketball Team in honor of Coach Luis Herrera who passed away unexpectedly in January.  Coach Luis was hoping to develop a boys' 13/14 team that would be based in Rahway, New Jersey, but never got the chance.  The team will represent SoulPhamm United, an organization that was created in Coach Luis' memory.The coach should be very familiar with the Rahway and/or Newark communities as most of our youth in other programs hail from those areas.  We will need the coach to help us find a location for tryouts (which we hope to have in April) and an outdoor or indoor location for the team to practice in.  The team will be working towards a memorial basketball game in Coach Luis' honor - scheduled for June 26th in the Bronx.Finally, the coach will need to consent to a background check which will be performed as we register him as a coach under the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).  Interested candidates should please email [email protected] letting us know their basketball experience.  Please include the town/county you live in.
