ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst experienced a drop in its rate of increase in coronavirus cases in the last week, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, the city saw 54 new cases in the last week, or a 1.4 percent hike. The increase was 2.4 percent the week before. The case total since the pandemic's beginning is 3,919. The number of those who have recovered is unavailable. As of Sunday, the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst stayed the same in the last week, at 61. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1.6 percent.
