Description
Goings on with the migrant crisis (easily verifiable facts):
- Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) have begun to process and release illegal border crossers who claim asylum, without issuing a Notice to Appear (NTA) - allowing them to depart custody without scheduling a court date for a hearing.
- A mother from Guatemala, with her 1-year-old, told a border official she paid smugglers $6,000.
- A 9-year-old Mexican girl drowned while trying to cross the Rio Grande into Texas this week.
- $86M spent to house illegals in hotels. [homeless veteran's would like those rooms!]
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief Alejandro Mayorkas said last week that border crossings were on track to be the highest in 20 years.
- CBP announced it had encountered more than 100,000 migrants at the border in February, while numbers of child migrants in custody have also increased dramatically.
More to come.
