Description
Athena is affectionate with the family, compatible with other friendly dogs, and believes cats are for herding! Her breed is known for their intelligence and wonderlust attitude. Athena is relatively calm for an Aussie mix; she does well when her humans are home but is a bit anxious when left home alone. However, this is because her foster people are sedentary and an Aussie is anything but sedentary.
Athena is not a young puppy but still a puppy in attitude and just under a year old.
Athena will do really well with someone who wants to provide a routine for her, get up, eat, drink, go for a walk or run, and provide a few minutes of brain activity----remember how smart they are so she will enjoy showing off her new skills when you teach them.
If you are active after work, or enjoy weekend hikes, Athena would make a great companion.
If you have kids, she will do well with kind and gentle kids, too.
However, if you love her for her beauty and want a backyard dog, she won't do so well. She loves outside but she is a family type dog and one who will thrive from not extensive exercise but regular outdoor enjoyment. Dog parks don't count as anyone with a working breed can tell you :)
Applications are online at karmicrescue.org
The adoption fee is $350.
She is spayed, vaccinated, etc.
