HAMILTON, NY — Three Mountain Brook residents were named to honors lists at Colgate University for the fall 2020 semester. Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade during the fall 2020 semester earn the Dean's Award with Distinction. Peter Hartman, a graduate of Mountain Brook High School, and a Philosophy major at Colgate, earned the Dean's Award with Distinction. Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses for a conventional letter grade earn the fall 2020 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence. Gilder Carruthers, a graduate of Indian Springs School and an Anthropology major at Colgate, and George Wilbanks, also a graduate of Indian Springs School, and a Religion major at Colgate, earned the fall 2020 Dean's Award for Academic Excellence. Colgate offers 56 majors and supports 25 Division I athletic teams on a campus of about 3,000 students in central New York.
