My sweet boy Dexter, a quirky 3-year-old Persian, had to have his eye removed on March 24, 2021. In November 2020, Dexter developed a rare genetic issue in his eye which resulted in 14 office visits. Ive been out of work since August of 2020 and challenged with getting by. And since his first big surgery in February, when we were all waiting to see if that procedure was successful to save his eye, we had to say goodbye to my 4-year-old orange tabby, Daisy. Daisy was diagnosed with untreatable cancer in January 2020 and knowing that there was nothing I could do for her broke my heart. To be transparent, all of these visits, procedures and surgeries have totaled over $5,000 that I paid for because I wanted to do everything I could to help Dexter.
