GOT A PASSION FOR DOGS! LOOKING FOR PART-TIME-POTENTIAL FULL-TIME WORK? Our doggie daycare/ boarding kennel/training facility is expanding to one more day of daycare. We are looking for someone to start working 20+ hours a week and 30+ in the summer. The right individual LOVES dogs, has a strong work ethic, is dependable, dedicated to their job, has a lot of energy, and would like to make a career in the pet care industry. You will be responsible for supervising play in our doggie daycare indoor/outdoor play areas. Much of the job involves monitoring play and ensuring that all dogs are safe, stress-free, and having fun. You will also be expected to be able to recognize a potential problem before it escalates and to know how to quickly and carefully break up any situation. Although fights in the daycare play areas are rare, if one does happen, you will be expected to involve yourself without hesitation. The position also involves monitoring the dogs' behavior and health, communicating effectively about the dogs in your care, and lots of cleaning up after pups! This job is physically demanding. You must be able to handle large dog breeds and lift up to 50lb. This job includes prolonged standing, walking, and bending. You must be able to move quickly in the event of a fight. You will also be expected to help maintain a clean play space for the dogs by picking up, and properly disinfecting and disposing of any waste, cleaning up the runs, crates, and play areas. You will also help dispense meals for the dogs during your shift and may be asked to administer medications. You are also expected to help with other tasks when needed and support team members. Other duties might include kennel cleaning, taking boarding dogs outside, feeding breakfasts and/or supper to boarding dogs, bathing dogs, posting to social media, updating our website, taking reservations, responding to emails, and answering the phone. Knowledge and Skills Required: Training and Pet first aid is a plus (will need to get certified within the first 60 days of employment) Reliable transportation. Passionate about dogs and providing them with a safe and fun environment Excellent customer service skills Basic computer/social media skills Basic reading, writing, and math skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Eager to take on challenges is an asset Experience evaluating dogs for group play placement is a plus Focused and lots of energy Primary Duties: Attending dogs in the indoor and outdoor play areas, including playing, feeding, and medicating them. Cleaning and upkeep of dog daycare/kennels, and play areas. Marketing Customer service Requirements: Must love and enjoy dogs. Must enjoy working outside with the dogs in the yards. Must be comfortable working alone with an average of 10 -15 dogs per day Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift/carry 50 lbs. Previous experience working with mixed playgroups of large and small dogs in a daycare facility is necessary. Prior customer service experience is preferred Other Duties: Office work including keeping files up to date Keeping the doggie daycare software up to date with current dogs’ info Making purchases online and/or in-person Transport dogs in our doggie taxi (late summer) • Starting Work Schedule: Mondays and Fridays-6:30 am to 6:30 pm with paid lunchtime, and some weekend hours. Starts at 20+ hours per week and will change to 30+ hours per week in the summer. Only applicants who live locally (less than 30 min commute) will be considered.
