POSITION OBJECTIVES: Perform service, maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps and equipment. • Perform routine service and repair of diesel engines, pumps, and equipment as prescribed. • Assist with deliveries, including loading of heavy equipment onto transport vehicles. • Troubleshoot and identify common diesel engine, pump, and equipment problems on various models. • Document, organize and track work orders and related forms necessary for billing/invoicing for parts and services performed on equipment. • Document a list of parts for servicing fleet equipment. • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality control. • Install/setup pumps and related pumping equipment and pumping systems.Assist other departments as necessary • Adhere to safety and security regulations and procedures, including the immediate reporting of all unsafe acts and/or conditions. • Required to work after-hours and weekends on a rotating on-call basis as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: • Proficient in the use of precision measuring devices. • Must have a working knowledge of D.C. electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot these systems. Must have a working knowledge of pump end construction and operating principles. • High School diploma or GED required; Trade school graduate or comparable experience • 1+ years of diesel engine repair and/or a minimum of being a graduate of diesel technical school training. • Experience with portable construction pumps, pipe fusing, dewatering and wastewater by-pass operations is highly desired.
