Lapa’au Farm is a 2 acre, bio-intensive farming operation in Olinda, Maui. We grow a variety of crops, but our primary focus is growing oyster mushrooms, root crops, and salad greens. We are looking for a part time farm worker with the potential to become a field manager. Hours can be semi-flexible but we are looking for someone who is committed to showing up consistently and punctually.  To Apply please email your resume. Scope of Farm Assistant Position:  ~Some farming experience necessary (at least 1-2 years required.) Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked on a small organic farm.  ~Interest and desire to learn new things about small scale organic market gardening and a willingness to broaden skillet as our business grows.  ~Following weekly scheduled tasks assigned at the beginning of the week ~Harvesting all kinds of vegetables & oyster mushrooms ~Weeding. Both hand weeding and using hand held weeding tools.  ~Preparing beds for planting. Ability to lift buckets filled with compost or fertilizer. ~Seeding and transplanting starts into beds. ~Experience using a BCS walk behind tractor (ideal but not required.)  ~Washing and processing produce for our restaurant accounts and weekly CSA. ~Helping keep the work environment clean and tidy. ~Team attitude and ability to work together with our small team. ~Excellent communication skills.  ~Desire to work in a beautiful environment and to be contributing to the local food movement here on Maui.  Our website: www.lapaau.farm
