Currently recruiting a Child/Youth Care Worker in El Paso, Texas, to support an immediate need to recruit over 500 personnel to care for undocumented children as part of the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for all direct care to adolescents ages 13-17. They provide continuous line of sight supervision at all times to their assigned unaccompanied children (UCs). They ensure quality care of all UCs and follow all ORR policies. DUTIES OF THE CHILD CARE/YOUTH CARE WORKER Provides direct supervision of children in care, and maintain line-of- sight at all times. Provides oversight during recreation, meal time, relaxing time, and play. Assists during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another. Interacts with children in an appropriate manner, including playing games or during recreational time. Ensures that all ORR policies and procedures are adhered to. Ensures quality care for all UC residents and timely response to UCs needs. Provides reports to manager. Attends appropriate internal and external meetings. Ensures all databases are properly maintained and includes quality data. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CHILD CARE/YOUTH CARE WORKER Bilingual in Spanish & English. Minimum age of 21 years or older. High school diploma or its equivalent. Clean criminal background check. Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) or child protective services check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CHILD CARE/YOUTH CARE WORKER Experience with children in child welfare or social service setting. Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed. Excellent presentation skills, as well as oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office products required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CHILD CARE/YOUTH CARE WORKER Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day Must be willing to work overtime if necessary Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation Must complete Urine Drug Screen ABOUT THE ARORA GROUP The Arora Group is an award-winning, Joint Commission-certified nationwide healthcare services company that, for over 30 years, has provided medical care in service of our country.
