Marin County based contractor looking for an experienced residential journeyman carpenter. DUTIES -Detailed framing work (in most cases, for large framing projects we will subcontract the framing work) -Window & door installations—large multi panel doors, pocket doors… -Waterproofing at building envelope, window & door openings and other penetrations. Typically using liquid applied flashing systems around openings and sheet products at exterior walls. -Complex interior millwork—ex: stain grade, multi piece crown moldings, coped corners, recessed baseboards, wall and ceiling paneling—all installed with extreme care for tight joints, limiting nail holes… -Complex exterior millwork (siding, trim, decks, railings…) -Cabinetry installation (though this is often times subcontracted) Tasks that our team will occasionally perform include: -Demolition -Minor hand trenching/excavation (typically would not be done by a journeyman carpenter) -Minor concrete work. -Large framing projects. -Minor drywall patching and paint touch ups (all major work is subcontracted). -Finish hardware installation. -Cover driving area of Marin county and San Francisco MUST HAVES -Able to communicate with Superintendent and other team members in English. - Spanish skills are a plus but not required. -Cooperative team player who motivates others around them. A get it done and do it right attitude. -PUNCTUAL – Arrives on time, works their full day, prompt communication about any absences. (This is a must) -Reliable transportation to San Francisco & Marin County jobsites. Including some sites that are well of the main highway. -We expect all of our carpenters to provide their own personal carpentry tools (These tools would typically include: tool bags & hand tools, drills, Skill Saw, router, jig saw, Sawzall… -As a company we will provide large tools (air compressors, nail guns, compound miter saws…). -Minimum of 5 years experience in high-end custom residential finish construction. -Capable of using/operating all standard carpentry tools in a safe and efficient manner. -Some level of understanding and ability to following a set of drawings. A superintendent will be available to assist. Layout skills are a plus. -Broad understanding of residential construction from foundation to finish (finish skills highest priority). JOB DETAILS -Rate : $38 to $48 p/h -Typical work week Mon-Fri 730am-4pm or 7am-330pm
