April 17th and 18th, we are heading out to one of our favorite runs. We are heading over the McGrew Fire Road and setting up camp right off the river.  We will meet in O'Brien and roll out shortly after 9:00.  Our meeting place will be in the Country Store just off of 199.  If you need snacks, fuel, or any sort of groceries,(the store has limited options) please show up early.  We will then head up and over to our evening camp spot near Rockland, California. That evening will be a bonfire and awesome food provided as always.  After an early morning reveille, we will chow down on breakfast prepared by our guides while tearing down camp.  Once we are all up and running, we will cruise on down the road towards the coast, working our way through the almighty redwoods. The weather should be warming up, but be prepared for anything.  We have seen snow, rain, wind, and sunny skys at this time of the year. FAQs What do I bring? You need to pack for an overnight campout.  Do not forget those warm clothes and rain gear.  The weather can change.  Can I bring my dog? While we enjoy and encourage bringing the family dogs, we do ask that they stay out of the kitchen area and remain manageable by command, and get along with others. If this is an issue or they do not respond to recall, we ask that they remain on a leash for the duration of the trip. What if I don't have a four wheel drive vehicle? No worries! Most of our guides have at least 1 open seat avaiable.  We encourage you to join us.  If you are local, we can pick you and your gear up for the event.  We will even return you home! What if I don't have camping gear? No worries! We have access to camping gear.  You tell us what you have.  We will provide the rest.  Just don't forget those warm clothes. What about cell service? For the most part, there will not be cell service at camp.  There will be spotty service along the trail and above our camp within a 10 to 20 minute drive, if a phone call needs to go out. In an emergency situation, the guides do have access to multiple forms of communication in the event that it would be necessary. Yes, even if it is to contact your child/significant other back at home. If there are any other questions, please reach out to us for any assistance. ***Team Overland COVID-19 guidelines:*** We understand and respect individual preferences and, in doing so, we ask that you respects ours and others decisions as well to continue doing events during this time. To protect our guides and guests, the following guidelines will be enforced. 1: We ask that social distancing occurs. Please police yourselves. We do not want to be "That Guy", but our guides will have to ask you to keep your distance. Needless to say, our conversation circle will be HUGE. 2: Mask up! During meal time, we ask that you mask up when being served. We have always emphasized socializing. The easiest way was while grabbing some delicious grub. However we will not be allowing buffet style for now. Our guides will be serving dinner and breakfast this event. We will be masked and gloved up for your protection. 3: We have always stated our rides are available for our guests. At this time we are unable to keep social distancing while in a guide's vehicle. We are locating a base camp that should be accessible with any vehicle. You are more than welcome to drive straight to camp with our advance party if your vehicle is unable to make the trail run. Just let us know when applying please. As mentioned before, we never know what mother nature will throw at us. We look forward to another great weekend with your Veterans, their families, and most importantly all of you kick ass civilians that have supported what we do. Due to amount of interest and popularity of our events, we will be administering an application form. Applicants will be reviewed on a case by case basis and half of the occupancy will be chosen at random. You will be notified by either email or a phone call from a guide if you have been chosen.
