WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington officials met with the Massachusetts School Building Authority about elementary school priorities and expect a funding recommendation in April, Town Manager Jeffrey Hull told the selectmen Monday. Town and school representatives met with the authority March 17 to narrow the pool of potential elementary school configurations. The authority staff is due to make recommendations to the MSBA board at a meeting tentatively scheduled April 14. The town said the Wildwood Early Childhood Center should be addressed and there is interest in consolidation. The following options were eliminated: Maintaining the six existing schools in the current configurationOne pre-K-5 for the whole communityOne pre-K-3 for the whole communityOne pre-K for the whole communityPre-K-4 schoolsHull said that MSBA representatives seem to understand the district's need and encouraged the district to reapply if not invited to this funding round.
