Production Finisher Trainee - Boat Building

Wing has 8-10 full-time production trainee positions available on the day shift from 6AM – 2:35 PM, Monday-Friday. Come stop by 1220 5th Street, get a tour of the plant and get an application M-F after 8:30 AM or email the provided link on this post to ask questions. You will start as a trainee, and work your way through the various levels of Finisher with salary increases as you master each level. If you have the proven ability to learn quickly, retain information and use a measuring tape - we would be happy to teach you how to build our military-grade boats and our whitewater river rafts. You will use chemicals and adhesives, a heat gun, hand tools, a measuring tape and your two hands to build some of the finest crafts that we ship around the world! We are looking for folks who: - excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven production environment - are team players, yet can work alone if necessary. - work safely, wear PPE, and can work in a noisy production plant using chemicals, once trained. - can handle the physical part of the job (help lift boats, stand most of the day, use hands/shoulders/arms daily, and kneel when needed during construction of the boats. - will be here on time and ready to work - have a “can do” positive attitude and willing to work OT on occasion If you love to build things or work in a production/kitchen/automotive setting, this job may be for you. If you have gone to school for Construction or Automotive technology - this may be your step into a new, unique career. You need reliable transportation since the bus doesn't arrive until after 6 AM. We do have bike racks available inside the building (or a locker in which you can keep your skateboard!). Along with monthly food celebrations, holiday events, the chance to listen to music while you work, you may get to ride on a finished product in Humboldt Bay, see videos of the products you build in action, and/or talk to end users who depend on the boats you build for their lives.
