Press release from the City of Cambridge: March 25, 2021 Cambridge Police Daily Log: March 24th, 2021 Type # Date & Time Info 03/24/202100:51 INCIDENT 21001916 UTTER COUNTERFEIT NOTE C267 S10 WHITE ST Cambridge Police responded to a Porter Square business for the report of someone attempting to pass counterfeit currency. 03/24/202107:29 INCIDENT 21001919 A&B C265 S13A BROADWAY Cambridge Police responded to the area of Sennott Park between Broadway and Norfolk Street for a report of a suspect that randomly physically assaulted (struck her arm with his hand) a person unknown to them. Units searched the area and were able to locate the suspect, who was later sectioned to a hospital for evaluation. 03/24/202109:08 INCIDENT 21001924 LARCENY UNDER $1200 C266 S30(1) NORRIS ST A resident of Cambridge states his bicycle was stolen sometime between 3/23/2021 at 6 p.m. and 3/24/2021 at 7 p.m. The resident states the bicycle was locked to a bike rack that is located in front of his residence and the suspect cut the lock that secured the bike to the rack. 03/24/202109:40 INCIDENT 21001926 LARCENY UNDER $1200 BY FALSE PRETENSE C266 S34 SEVENTH ST A resident of Cambridge states he sold a board game and its figurines to an individual in North Carolina. The resident stated the game was returned to him because it did not contain the figurines and $200 was removed from his bank account for the return. 03/24/202112:55 INCIDENT 21001928 A&B C265 S13A PUTNAM GDNS Cambridge Police responded to Putnam Gardens for a simple assault. 03/24/202115:34 INCIDENT 21001931 FIREARM, DISCHARGE WITHIN 500 FT OF BLDG C269 S12E CHERRY ST Cambridge Police Officers responded to Cherry Street for a report of shots fired. After officers arrived on scene, one spent shell casing was found in the roadway of Cherry Street. A crime scene was initiated. During the investigation, an involved male party had warrants out of Rhode Island. Daniel Rodriguez, 31, Cambridge, was placed under arrest for the warrants (Fugitive from Justice and Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle). An investigation is ongoing. 03/24/202117:20 INCIDENT 21001934 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE C90 S24 ELLERY ST A Newton resident reported hit-and-run damage to a motor vehicle. His 2015 Honda Civic was struck while parked on Ellery Street near Massachusetts Avenue yesterday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Damage was visible on the front bumper. 03/24/202117:39 INCIDENT 21001936 LARCENY UNDER $1200 C266 S30(1) MASSACHUSETTS AVE Cambridge Police took a report for a larceny of a package. 03/24/202117:48 INCIDENT 21001937 SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE / EOD INVESTIGATION MASSACHUSETTS AVE Cambridge Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded to Mass Ave at Pearl Street for an unattended backpack.
