Arlington Receiving Estimated $36M From American Rescue Plan

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington will receive an estimated $36 million from the American Rescue Plan Act, a $1.9 trillion relief plan that allocates approximately $350 billion toward state, county and municipal governments. "We are pleased to see additional financial relief come to Arlington," Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine said in a statement. "The town is awaiting more detailed guidance from the Department of the Treasury in regards to how it can actually spend the funds. We are anxious to learn more and share the results with the Arlington community." Money from the ARPA may be used to replace revenue lost or reduced as a result of the pandemic, fund COVID-related costs, provide support to aid households and businesses impacted by the crisis, invest in economic recovery and renewal and investments in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure. The town will provide updates as it determines where to allocate funding.
