Social Emotional Learning with Dr. Donna Beegle Calling all counselors, administrators, academic coaches, lead teachers, and interested community partners, to attend the Social Emotional Learning(SEL) Community of Practice with the Lake County Office of Education. This day will feature Dr. Donna Beegle and will include ways to work more effectively with students and families who live in the crisis of poverty and improving communication across poverty barriers. Participants will gain a knowledge base and tools for creating poverty-informed policies and practices for improving education success. Build your district's social and emotional capacity to support all staff and students. Actively learn and collaborate with other education leaders to promote social SEL within a multi-tiered system of support for the whole child. The Lake County Office of Education will support SEL integration that leverages the expertise of districts to build the capacity for all. Offering a collaborative space for professional learning around SEL and connected equity effortsProviding ongoing networking and sharing of best practicesPresenting trauma and poverty informed practicesDate: Wednesday, April 21, 2021  Location: To be decided 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Keynote: Dr. Donna Beegle will focus on what students living in poverty are experiencing and real life experiences as examples. 12:45 PM - 3:00PM School Workshop: School staff will have the opportunity to work with Dr. Donna Beegle and create plans to implement poverty informed strategies into their schools and classrooms.
