TEMPORARY JOB OPPORTUNITY – COMMUNITY COORDINATOR / PUMP WATCHMAN Garney Construction is hiring for temporary Community/Pump Watchmen “Coordinator” positions for The City of Sarasota Phase 3 Lift Station 87 Gravity Mains Project. This position is open to fill two shifts; midnight to 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday through June 2021 at $15 per hour. A pre-employment drug test, physical, and screening is required. Garney is an EEO employer. The purpose of this position is to keep a Coordinator on the project 24/7 to aid in providing access to residences along the effected corridors during both on and off working hours. The Coordinator will be assigned a golf cart for on-site transportation and to help residents as necessary to access their properties when construction activities limit access. The Coordinator will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses, long pants, gloves, and a colored safety vest to identify him or herself as the Community Coordinator. The Coordinator will be required to follow CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 as well as to keep the cart sanitized. The Coordinator will be responsible with helping to carry and transport resident essentials such as groceries or other items to and from remote parking locations and their residences. The Coordinator will be responsible for site security during non-working hours and to notify project personnel of any issues with running equipment such as dewatering or by-pass pumping equipment.
