WALLINGFORD, CT — The town recently reached an agreement with a Town Hall employee to settle a lawsuit that accused Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. of workplace retaliation, according to the Meriden Record-Journal. The Record-Journal reports that as part of the settlement agreement, Youth and Social Services Program Coordinator Janice Server agreed to retire and accepted nearly $24,000 from the town's insurer. The lawsuit, which was withdrawn, claimed Dickinson retaliated against Server after she complained to the state human rights commission over work requirements related to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Record-Journal. Server is a cancer survivor who suffers from a long-standing lung disease and has a compromised immune system, according to court documents. She requested to be allowed to work from home during the pandemic and was denied. Read more at the Meriden Record-Journal here.
