MILFORD, CT — Milford's Tyce Thompson is a professional hockey player after signing a contract with the New Jersey Devils, Hearst Connecticut reports. The contract is for two years. His father, Brent, is the head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. His brother, Tage, is also an NHL hockey player. The New Jersey Devils in a news release said Thompson has reported to New Jersey to begin his quarantine. He has been assigned jersey no. 12. Thompson was New Jersey's sixth selection (fourth round), and 96th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft. Thompson, 21, spent the last three seasons, 2018-21, with Providence College (Hockey East).
