Position Title: Service Writer Standard Wage: $15.00 – $21.00 per hour (DOE, Including Commissions) plus + $1.00 per hour time card bonus Working Season: April 1 to October 5 – 5-6 days per week, 1/2 hour lunch, day(s) off may vary October 6 to March 31 – Monday-Friday, 1/2 hour lunch End of Season Bonus May 1 – October 2 (per handbook) • $ 1.00 per hour End of Season Bonus • $ 1.00 per hour Safety Bonus • $ 1.00 per hour Wellness Bonus Organizational Unit: Service Department Vacation Restriction: Closed period April 1 to October 5 Supervisor: Parts Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Service Writing • Prepare and price Repair Orders (RO) for retail service agreements as directed by the Part Manager • Responsibilities include being first contact for service customers via telephone and in person • Prepare written estimates for service work and parts • Act as liaison between customer and technicians • Assigning the Technician/Shop Assistant to service maintenance and repair task that will be performed in the shop for retail customers • Track service/work orders and parts requests • Perform timely follow-up with customer • Input/track work orders through computer, ensuring timely completion of work order and invoice submission Parts Counter • Perform retail sales over the counter (OTC) sales Special Projects • Additional projects assigned by Parts Manager Education: High School Diploma Experience: 2 years office and clerical experience, with 1 to 2 years customer service experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Must be at least 21 years of age • Must be able to effectively sell repair services and parts to prospective customers • Must be able to work well with others as well as alone • Must be able to pay consistent attention to detail • Must be a highly motivated, energetic individual • Must have consistent and reliable work attendance • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills • Must have an Alaska state driver’s license with a clean driving record and maintain during employment, current copy of driving record is required • Insurance requirements do not allow us to hire any applicant that has been convicted of reckless driving or driving while intoxicated
