Description

Press release from the Story County Government: March 25, 2021 Story County, along with ten (10) other counties in Central Iowa, is participating in a study to determine the availability of adequate and affordable broadband service throughout our county.  An important part of this study is a survey of Story County residents.  Story County residents and businesses can participate in the Central Iowa Broadband Internet Survey. The purpose of the Survey is to measure broadband internet availability and identify areas that do not currently meet consumer needs and expectations. This survey is part of the Central Iowa Broadband Internet Study. The Survey is open now through Tuesday, April 27. Story County officials are encouraging residents and businesses to participate in the survey, to obtain the best possible picture of broadband coverage, and gaps in coverage throughout our County, and understand consumers' experience with available broadband internet service. The survey can be accessed on the website for the Greater Des Moines Partnership (https://www.dsmpartnership.com/growing-business-here-central-iowa-broadband-internet), which is coordinating the study.  There are two separate survey links:  The study is made possible through funding from Story County and the 10 other counties involved in the survey (Adair, Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek and Warren.), plus Alliant Energy, the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Pella Rural Electric Cooperative and the Greater Des Moines Partnership.   This press release was produced by the Story County Government.
