Description
JOHNSTON, RI — Johnston police have captured a steer that has been roaming the town for nearly two months, said Chief Joseph Razza in a news release.
The steer was caught Friday morning on Pine Hill Avenue, said Razza. It was found unharmed and has been transported back to its owner's farm in Connecticut.
The 1,600-pound animal got loose in early February as it was being unloaded at Rhode Island Beef & Veal slaughterhouse in Johnston.
Although there were occasional sightings of the infamous cow, police were unable to actively chase the animal and focused on keeping it safe in wooded areas.
