BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters in Bristol Township battled their second house fire in less than 24 hours on Thursday evening. Crews were called at 7 p.m. to a home on the 11oo block of Thistle Street in Bristol. There, they found residents who had discovered flames and smoke coming from a bedroom. Smoke had started to fill the house by the time firefighters arrived, according to Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito. There were no injuries in the fire, but the home was severely damaged and left uninhabitable, Dippolito said. He ruled that the fire was caused by wiring connected to a switch in the bedroom. The call came after another house fire reported shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday. That fire, on Main Avenue, led to a woman being rescued from a roof, where she had climbed for safety, and another man leaping from a second-story balcony. Dippolito ruled that fire an arson and Bristol Township Police detectives have taken over the investigation.
