The need for action has been ignored for far too long. Now we ask, what more is needed for change? Vibrant Pittsburgh, together with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, recently released our Vibrant Index Summary in a public report to the region. The Vibrant Index diagnostic evaluated local companies in nine impact areas, identifying areas of responsibility, equity, diversity and inclusion strengths and opportunities for change within each participating organization. Looking to data to showcase positive and negative trends and to help find solutions to all the challenges organizations face is an important step forward toward achieving racial and gender equity. Vibrant Pittsburgh remains committed to partnering with the civic and business community to measure success over time and to create a broader level of accountability toward regional change. At Vibrant Pittsburgh, we are calling on the business community to be active participants in building more inclusive workspaces throughout our region. As we stated when Covid-19 began to impact our organizations, now is not the time to put DE&I efforts on the back burner but to invest, deepen commitments and ensure that inclusion is a part of the way we do business here. Just as a house is built brick by brick, we must rebuild the world we want to live in, brick by brick. What we do today will pave the way for more progress tomorrow. Additionally, I implore leaders at every level to use their power, platforms and resources to help employees and our communities overcome systemic racism, bigotry and hate. I issue not just a call to action, but a call for change. I am asking that our region’s companies think critically about how they can use their power to affect change; to not only raise awareness about diversity, equity and inclusion in our companies, but to drive the conversations, commitments and actions among your peers.” Don’t miss Sabrina Saunders Mosby’s appearance on Wednesday, March 31st at 12 Noon at the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh. Join us at the beautiful Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, located at 525 Smithfield Street in the center of downtown Pittsburgh. ZOOM option is also available! Yours In Rotary Service, Kelli Morgavo Robbins
