LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The Laguna Beach City Council this week announced it will disperse $450,000 to organizations throughout its community. On Tuesday, the council approved a measure to divide $250,000 across 28 nonprofit organizations that support the Laguna Beach community. Another $200,000 will be spread among 14 cultural arts organizations. The grant funds, the council said, are offered annually in support of community non-profits that offer services and programs to the community. The council this week also decided to begin hosting meetings in a new hybrid format that allows members of the public to offer in-person comments. The new meeting format allows council members to return to the dais. Plexiglass partitions will be installed between them, the council said on its website. Members of the public wishing to offer comments will be allowed to do so. They must maintain social distance and wear a mask. The council said after providing a comment, comments will be required to exit the room and cannot stay to participate further in discussion. Meetings will continue to be streamed live on Zoom for those who choose to view and offer comments from home. The council is set to meet again on April 6.
