EVANSTON, IL — A teenage boy was struck and killed by a train Friday morning on the CTA Yellow Line tracks in Evanston, authorities said. Around 6:45 a.m., Evanston Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the tracks just east of Dodge Avenue for a report that a person had been hit by a train, fire officials said. An investigation indicates the boy was a 14-year-old Chicago resident, according to police. He was not immediately identified. Skokie Swift service was suspended from before 7 a.m. to about 8:45 a.m. Friday morning, according to CTA alerts. Friday morning's incident marks the second person fatally struck by a train in Evanston in the past 10 days. On March 16, a 38-year-old resident of Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood was found dead after being struck by a Metra train near the Davis station. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, the investigation into his death is pending.
