Description
I met you in a hostel in Hong Kong probably way too long ago.
I spent only about three hours with you. You invited me to dinner, kind enough to show me around.
I talked too much about returning to the States because I had spent a year in Australia and was scared and reluctant to go back.
Probably didn’t listen enough about your teaching in Japan for two years.
You were kind and smart and interesting, I looked forward to hearing more about your journey.
I misunderstood when you were changing hostels and was frankly almost broken-hearted when I woke up to see you had gone.
Thinking about you, Ben.
This world is weird and maybe we’ll meet again,
Here’s my Hail Mary to the universe.
