CHARLOTTE, NC — The timeline for deciding whether students should attend school in person or remotely is running out for parents of Charlotte-Mecklenburg students, the school district said. "If your child currently attends school in person and you want them to transfer to Full Remote Academy for the rest of the year, please let your school know ASAP," CMS Board Chair Elyse Dashew said Thursday via Facebook. "Also, if your child is in Full Remote Academy and you want them to transfer to in person learning, please let your school know ASAP." The deadline for submitting the decision form about moving students into or out of CMS' Full Remote Academy is Friday, March 26 at 5 p.m., the school district said. "The potential for so many students transferring between in person and remote causes a huge amount of planning work for our school principals to do in an intense time crunch. This is why we are asking you to let us know if you want to transfer ASAP," Dashew added. Earlier this week, the CMS Board voted to expand four-day a week in-person learning to middle and high school students following spring break, beginning April 12. The move aligns older students with K-5 students and K-8 students who attend in-person learning four days a week.
