Press release from the City of White Plains: Posted on: March 24, 2021 During the month of April, the Bureau of Water will be flushing water mains between the hours of midnight and 4:00 a.m. Except for emergencies and/or repairing hydrants during the normal work day, our program will be conducted in the neighborhoods of: SOUNDVIEW – OLD MAMARONECK ROAD GEDNEY FARMS – COLONIAL HAVILANDS – NORTH STREET This operation may cause some discoloration of the water, so washing clothes is not recommended during this brief time (midnight – 4 a.m.) however, the water quality remains the unchanged and is still safe for drinking. If you experience any discoloration of your water, simply run cold water until the water runs clear. We regret any inconvenience, but this is a necessary maintenance and safety requirement.
