A COVID-19 friendly 5K for all ages to support the Aerospace Booster Club at Samford University's Air Force ROTC Detachment 012. Air Force ROTC Detachment 012, based out of Samford University, is excited to announce the 2021 Red, White, and Blue 5K! This year's event will be held on the 18th of September, 2021 and will be run on the Lakeshore Trail starting at the Samford Track and Field Stadium! This is an event is open for people of all ages, and it can be treated as a fun-run or a race (there will be awards for the top finalists in the men's and women's brackets). There will be stations for water at different points of the route (preliminary route down below). WE WILL BE FOLLOWING COVID-19 GUIDELINES UNLESS CONDITIONS CHANGE! Depending on how many people sign up, we will likely have two (2) heats to participate in (the first going from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM and the second from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM) in order to limit the likelihood of exposure. The price for the event has not yet been determined, but when it is, we will send an email with instructions on how to pay. The price paid will include a general admission ticket and one (1) t-shirt (design pending). All proceeds for this event go to the Aerospace Booster Club of Detachment 012, which allows our cadets to have a yearly Dining-Out and participate in useful training exercises off-campus.
