Skeletal Remains Found Near Vulcan Trail

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A walker on Vulcan Trail on Red Mountain discovered human remains in the woods off the trail Wednesday night. The discovery was made just after 6 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the body had likely been at the location for a couple of weeks, but the cause of death is uncertain. Yates said nothing at the scene immediately indicated foul play.
